Wild Horse Tours

The Wild Horses of Corolla are one of several wild herds along the coast of North Carolina. They roam freely in the 4-Wheel-Drive area which begins at the end of Route 12 (around Milepost 13) in Corolla and extends 12 miles further up along the beach to the border between North Carolina and Virginia.

Most tours take about two hours and travel the 4-wheel drive beach where the horses roam freely in small herds. All visitors must stay at least 50 feet away from the horses at all times and the beach speed limit within 300 feet of other persons or animals is 15 mph.
