OFFICE LOCATION
Our office is located at 520A Old Stoney Road in the Ocean Club Centre at the south entrance of The Currituck Club. Our office is open 7 days a week and our normal business hours are from 9:00am-5:00pm. If our assistance is needed after hours you can call our After Hours line at (252) 599-0101 anytime.
RESERVATIONS
Reservations can be made 24 hours a day online at www.ParamountDestinations.com or by phone 7 days a week at 1-866-753-3045 where a friendly vacation specialist will be happy to assist you.
SIGNATURE CONCIERGE PROGRAM
As a guest of our premier vacation company you will have the ability to enjoy the benefits of our concierge program. Let us streamline your vacation planning by booking you an In-Home Spa Treatment or arranging a fully customized dinner by a Personal Chef. Our list of available concierge services is ever expanding so check with our Guest Services Coordinator to find out how we can make your vacation even more enjoyable with these additional services.
LINENS
All Paramount Destinations homes come standard with linens for all beds in your vacation home. All linens are professionally laundered and sanitized and you will find the beds have already been made for your arrival. Baths sets (which include a bath towel, hand towel and wash cloth) will also be provided in the home at no additional charge to you as our guest.
CHECK-IN
Paramount Destinations normally begins check-in at 4:00 PM however, due to our high standards for cleanliness, there is a possibility that your vacation rental may not be ready until slightly later, especially during peak season. We cannot guarantee that every home will be ready at that time but we do attempt to have every home be ready by 6:00 PM. Your patience is appreciated. We can check no one into a property that has not been released by our cleaning and maintenance department. Please don’t go to the property before you have been notified by the office that the property has been cleared for check-in. It delays the cleaning, servicing, and inspection of the property as well as your check-in time. If you know that you will be arriving late please call our office in advance so we can make arrangements to assure you have access to the property. A limited number of "Early 1:00 PM Check-Ins" will be offered for a fee to those guests with special arrival needs. The earlier you call us, the better your chances are of securing this service. Please contact the office for details.
CHECKOUTS
To avoid any additional late check out fees, all units must be vacated by 10 AM on checkout day. A limited number of "Late 12:00 PM Departures" will be offered for a fee to those guests with special departure needs. The earlier you call us, the better your chances are of securing this service. Please contact office for details. Upon checkout, the guest is responsible for completing the list of “Checkout Procedures” enclosed in the “Guest Check-In Packet.” The management company reserves the right to charge fee if the property is not left in acceptable condition.
LOST ITEMS
Paramount Destinations shall not be held responsible for items left in the rental unit. If an item is recovered it will be held for thirty days at the management company office. If the management company receives a completed form for its return during that time period it will be returned by mail for the cost of mailing plus a $35 handling charge. Tenants must leave all keys on the kitchen counter upon checkout or be subject to a $25 per lost key fee.
PETS
Properties allowing pets are usually limited to two (2) housebroken domestic animals (dogs) unless otherwise stated. A $100 minimum, nonrefundable fee is charged for each pet on all reservations including pets. The homeowner must approve any pet other than a dog prior to occupancy. A pet of any kind on the premises of a non-pet property is absolutely prohibited and is grounds for expedited eviction of the entire party and forfeiture of all monies paid as provided in the North Carolina Vacation Rental Act.
ACCOMMODATIONS AND FURNISHINGS
Each property is privately owned; furnished, equipped for housekeeping and decorated to the Owner’s taste. The owners of the properties managed by Paramount Destinations provide a higher level of Standard furnishings than usually expected and Paramount Destinations will provide you with a starter kit of dish soap, dishwashing detergent, paper towels and toilet paper, but the tenant will still need to supply their week’s supply of all staples. FAMILY GROUPS ONLY & MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY
Paramount Destinations’ rental homes are reserved for family groups only, as authorized by our contracts with the property owner. No fraternities, sororities, civic, school, church or other groups will be allowed without prior written permission from the homeowner. The person whose name appears on the Lease must be in occupancy. Paramount Destinations will only allow this named person to check into the property unless prior arrangements have been made. Written notification of the persons allowed to check in, and permission of same must be in the hands of Paramount Destinations prior to our giving the keys to anyone other than the person named on the Lease. The person checking into any Paramount Destinations home must be 21 years of age. Occupancy count must include children over the age of two (2).
CANCELLATIONS
All cancellations must be in writing by fax, email or letter. If the property is re-rented for only a portion of the original rental period or at a reduced rate, the only refund due the canceling Tenant are those funds in excess of the original rental rate, less $200.00 cancellation fee, the $100 administrative fee and any other additional non-refundable fees as described in the Paramount Destinations brochure or website. Refunds will be payable to the rental guest within 30 days after the subsequent re-rent payment has cleared our accounts. (Trip insurance may cover many of the reasons for cancellation therefore, we Highly Recommend Trip Insurance to protect against unexpected events)
In the event a reservation is cancelled and the property is not re-rented during the entire term, then the entire rent payment will be forfeited.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
We highly recommend you purchase travel insurance during your initial reservation and offer travel insurance through CSA Travel Protection at a rate of 6.5% of the base rent. Trip insurance can refund prepaid fees and covers a variety of issues that could impact your vacation and can save you from a lot of heart ache and financial loss should unforeseen circumstances occur. Some of the things that may be covered with this insurance include: mandatory evacuation due to a hurricane, sickness, injury or death of an immediate family member, or traveling companion, the insured’s principal residence being made uninhabitable by fire, flood or vandalism, termination of employment or armed services leave revocation; Click here for the CSA Coverage details .We make this service available to our guests however, this is not a contract of insurance and the benefits and services are described on a general basis so please see the insurance certificate for complete details. This is private insurance so if you have specific questions and to verify specific coverage, please call CSA Insurance directly at 1-888-470-9123.
TRANSFER
A rental guest may request a transfer from one week to another week in the same property, same year. All requests for transfers must be made in writing and received by Paramount Destinations at least 30 days prior to check-in. Transfers made from a higher rental rate to a lower rental rate will remain at the higher rental rate, unless the original term is re-rented. Transfers from a lower rental rate to a higher rental rate will be charged the higher rental rate. The rental guest will be charged a $150.00 transfer fee. Transfers to another rental unit will be treated as a cancellation.
FINAL BALANCE
Confirmation of the initial rent payment will serve as the bill for the final balance. These monies must be received in our office no later than 30 days prior to your arrival. If the balance is not received by this time, we may cancel the reservation or you may be subject to a $35.00 late balance payment fee. Checks should be made payable to Paramount Destinations, should reference confirmation number and rental week and be returned with the signed lease.
PAYMENT
We recommend payments be made in the form of personal check, cashier’s check, e-check, certified check or money order. We also accept MasterCard and Visa. No personal checks will be accepted within thirty days of the arrival date. Reservations made less than 30 days prior to arrival require full payment via credit card, cashier’s check, wire transfer, certified check or money order mailed overnight to Paramount Destinations by express mail carrier and received within 2 business days. Paramount Destinations does not accept personal checks upon check-in. Paramount Destinations reserves the right to levy a charge for all returned checks. PAYMENTS FOR FOREIGN RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE IN U.S. FUNDS BY MONEY ORDER, WIRE TRANSFERS OR CASHIER’S CHECK PAYABLE ON A U.S. BANK.
TAX
The NC state tax rate is 6.75%. The current Dare County occupancy tax is 5% and the current Currituck County occupancy tax is 6%. These moneys are due in addition to your rental amount including all fees for goods and services. The tax rates may change without notice.
ADMINISTRATIVE FEE
A nonrefundable $100 administration fee is charged for processing each reservation and will be included in your initial advance rent payment.
SECURITY DEPOSITS AND DAMAGE WAIVER
Rental Guests will be held responsible for any damages to the premises, including damages to the furnishings and household items that result from the action or inaction, excluding however, normal wear and tear. As a rental guest it will be your responsibility to report to the management office immediately upon arrival any damages found or if repairs and/or maintenance are needed. As a rental guest you may choose to either pay the refundable $1,000 security deposit which will be processed for return 45 days after checkout. Or if you would like to have the Security Deposit waived, you have the option of purchasing the Security Damage Waiver for the amount of $75 plus the applicable tax which covers up to $2,000 in unintentional damages provided the damage is reported to our office. The Security Damage Waiver in no way relieves any responsibility concerning the proper treatment of the rental property and any willful damage to property may result in prosecution.
AMENITIES
Private pools and hot tubs are scheduled open for use May 1st through October 31st. Some properties provide heated pools for an additional fee. Hot tub use in the off-season is dependent upon each individual property. Please check with the office to inquire about the availability of these amenities.
Subdivisions with outdoor swimming pools generally afford pool use May 15th through October 15th, weather permitting unless otherwise specified, Paramount Destinations cannot be held responsible for any subdivision amenities that are closed for maintenance purposes or inoperable conditions beyond our control. Swimming pools and hot tubs can pose risks ranging from infections to drowning so please use with care and at your own risk.
TELEPHONES
Every property in our rental program is equipped with a telephone and the phone number is posted in the house. The telephone in your rental property is not connected to a switchboard so we suggest all other calls, should be made on your cell phones, or billed to your home number. All calls throughout Dare and Currituck Counties are toll-free. If you make toll calls on the Owner’s phone, you may incur a service fee in addition to the amount of your calls.
MOBILE HOMES, RVs, and CAMPERS
Are not permitted at the Premises without previous approval by Paramount Destinations.
PARTIAL WEEK RENTALS
Some homes have been designated to allow partial week rentals. Partial week rentals have a 3 night minimum are only available September 1st- May 31st. Partial week rentals can only be booked within 14 days of your arrival date, so please check with our office about rates and availability. In addition to the standard taxes and fees, an additional $100 partial week fee may be charged for any partial week rental.
SPECIAL EVENTS / WEDDINGS
Some homes have been designated to allow special events and weddings and only homes with this designation will be permitted to host events. A Special Event fee may be charged for this privilege so please contact the office for additional information about hosting an event in one of our vacation homes. In addition, the Security Damage Waiver is not available for Special Events. Reservations for Special Events are required to have the refundable $1,000 Security Deposit.
